Her Funeral Parlour is based in beautifully renovated premises at Salterhebble Hill, Halifax, and is located very close to Calderdale Royal Hospital, Park Wood Crematorium and Halifax Register Office. Amanda Dalby

Amanda has been a funeral director since January 2005, and has operated her own business since April 2007. She learnt her trade and gained her professional qualifications working for bigger funeral providers in Calderdale, then decided that she wanted to do things differently. She now offers a more modern, personal service to bereaved families.

Originally from Idle in Bradford, Amanda moved to Halifax 35 years ago when she was expecting her son, Michael, and now regards it as her hometown.

In her spare time Amanda enjoys going to the theatre & cinema, music & dancing, shopping, and eating out with friends, as well as regular visits back to Bradford to visit her family and friends.

Nick Barker

Nick is our new Trainee Funeral Director, who joined the business in May 2025. He has made a career change from working at a well known construction company in Halifax, to join our Funeral Team. He hopes that this will be a more fulfilling role that will help our families during their time of bereavement.

Nick has lived in Halifax for most of his life, and has a teenage son. He is a regular at his local gym and enjoys Aquascaping with his collection of tropical fish! He is a family man, and spends as much time with them as he can.

 Coleen Wright

 Coleen is our Funeral Services Assistant, who joined the business in December 2024. She has previously worked in various management & customer service based roles and has great communication skills and empathy with our families. 

Coleen was born and brought up in Scunthorpe, but came to live in West Yorkshire 19 years ago. She has two young sons and lives in Halifax not to far from the Parlour. She is a busy mum, but in her spare time enjoys pottery painting with friends, gardening, cooking and family days out with her boys & fiance, Tom.
